Equilibrium is a lamp designed to showcase the irregularities that happen when melting recycled plastic. The plastic is collected from a network of local households that donate their plastics to the studio.

The plastic is sorted, shredded, and extruded to make the lamp base. Although it is all #5 plastic, different companies use different blends which sometimes react when melted together.

Desk organizer
Recycled PETG #1 plastic

Originally designed in 2018 with the concept that the design could be distributed and scaled to fit any 3D printer on the market. With each scale shift the form affords different uses. At the smallest scale it functions as a business card holder and pen holder, at medium scale a desk organizer, at large scale a mail sorter or a place to store books and magazines. Five years later, the design is revisisted with the ability to be realized at the various scales outlined.
